I just found some old rolls of film and processed them and they took me to a hot, moist place in Tennesee with lots of hippies and backpacks.. Bonnaroo.

I wish I could be upstate right now! I'm feeling the concrete, and missing the nature.

Joy is my middle name

for real. This picture taken at Bonnaroo in Tennessee.
Curtain Call - oh how i love curtains
Dum Dum Girls are really catchy.

Yacht was awesome at the dfa showcase. They got new yorkers dancing! any band that comes to ny and gets brooklyn kids dancing is doing something right.

Imaad Wasif was awesome!

Apache Beat at NME showcase

Duchess Says

Atlas Sound was soooo beautiful and emotional.

Nylon just put up a lil online feature of the photos I shot of the noisettes. They also did an acoustic version while I was at the Nylon office and it was so sweet and fun. You can watch it too.

Amanda Blank

Forgot about this.. Went to The Natural History Museum last week to see Amanda Blank and Spankrock play. They're so good. She's a badass chick.

Then we all went to a rooftop party in LES where it was all fun and good with a lot of old school NY artists, until some assholes beat a bottle into Tazmanian Tim's face. So sad. So mean. Then the cops came and we bolted.. fast.

Horrors

I went to see the Horrors play at Music Hall of Williamsburg last Friday. I've seen the Horrors play about 12 times over the past four years. Their shows are better and better each time. They've grown to be such a tight band, and their new album is really really good.

Shingai from The Noisettes in the new Nylon. She is a really cool chick! It was the second time I shot her. The first time she wore little race cars in her hair. Adorable.

Wild Things

Everyone go see Where The Wild Things Are this weekend.. It's beautiful, and there's something in it for everyone. Honestly, I was lucky enough to see the NYC premiere, and it happened to fall on the one year anniversary of my dear friend, Jesse Valentine's death. He was a sweet soft and furry lovable guy, and at one moment in the film, I bawled my eyes out. It felt good.

ABC No Rio

I've lived in the lower east side for 10 years, and there's always been one place you could rely on to see or make art.. where there's a darkroom and screenprinting, where you can checkout real punk shows, a place that never turned into a little boutique or a sports bar: Art always lived there, and luckily still will! Abc No Rio was threatened to be torn down by the city and thank fuckin god the people stood up and said, "This place is important. We need it! Nyc needs it."And somehow the city granted them $1.65 Million to rebuild the space and preserve the independent arts center. This is beyond awesome. So last week they had a wake for the building that will be torn down (the bldg is condemned), but will be rebuilt for the same use with the same intentions. They dangled some sort of fabric off the roof into the coffin on the street, then we all marched around the neighborhood behind the coffin. It was a very special moment.

Thee Oh Sees

Thee oh sees were great at Mercury Lounge. They actually got NYers dancing!
